Carbon Fiber pieces from Anvil Auto

I have already purchased from Matt at Anvil Auto the gauge cluster, A Pillars and Fender Support Bars. I will be getting the HOOD, Rally Sport Nose Panel, Deck Lid, and Rear Filler panel from him next week. I have to say the quality is awesome.

I love this Classic hood emblem that came on those 1972 Camaro's.

QA1 Shocks

Here is the front Shocks that I will be using. It is a coil-over conversion that uses the existing up spring pocket but still gives you the adjustment. They are a QA1 Part # GMP1350-3 and I also bought the spanner wrench. I would also get the bearing plate instead of the large flat washers that come with the shocks. The top picture is what they look like mounted into the lower global west control arms.

I ordered and received my lower set of Global West Control arms for my Camaro. These are really nice pieces and should be add some awesome handling. They are Global West Part # CTA-71H

My first Camaro

Here is my first Camaro.

It is a 1970 Rally Sport Camaro. I built this car back in 1996 prior to the whole Pro Touring fad started. This car had a fuel injected 406cid Small Block with serpentine belt. 17" inch wheels with BFG Drag Radial for the Track and Zrated tires for the road. It had a full Global West Suspension System that made this one handle on rails. It was a awesome car but I lost it because of divorcing my wife. It was one of the most horrible situations loosing the car in that way and just made me more bitter. This Camaro had the look, feel, and rumble that made people stand up an notice. I hope to someday get her back but who knows.

The Plan

Well here is the plan on the build.

Paint: Hugger Orange with a white pearl in the clear coat. Leave the carbon fiber unpainted to show off the rally stripes on the car.

Body: Hood, Deck lid, Rally Sport Nose, tall 3 piece rear spoiler all in Carbon Fiber from Anvil

Wheels: 18 inch wheels

Brakes: ZO6 front and rear brakes

Suspension: Global West Upper And Lower Control arms - Addco Sway Bars - QA1 Coilover Shocks - Hotchkis Rear Leaf Springs - Subframe Connectors - G Bar - Roll Bar - DSE Body Mount and rear leaf spring bushings.

Rear End: Factory 10 Bolt Posi rear end with disc brakes

Seats: BMW E46 M3 Seats and recovered rear seat to match front leather.

Interior Mods: Carbon Fiber Gauge Holder with Autometer Cobalt Gauges - Carbon Fiber A pillar - BMW Center Console with Arm rest - complete new carpet and all interior parts - Sound Deadening by Second Skin Audio

Audio: JL Subs and amps - Alpine Head Unit with navigation - Second 8 inch screen for the Magden system.

Engine: LS1 engine from Corvette or Camaro - will mod motor after install

Transmission: 4l65e from bowler trans plus paddle shifter

Starting Point

I purchased this 1972 Camaro about a year ago. To say the least it was in pretty rough shape. From 20 feet away it did not look to bad but up close it was rough. It had very rough sheep metal. This was a Texas car and must have had bad door seal. All the low spots on the vehicle were rusted thru on the car. I do believe it is worth resurecting all these old muscle cars. They are getting harder and harder to find. Plus the thought of one of these going to the crusher is not to my liking. I at least only paid $500 for the car and that makes up for a little of the work that needs to be done.
